Designed for French language learners and French culture lovers, « Si on chantait? » takes the audience on an immersion trip into the most beloved French songs. Everlasting songs born on a street corner, revived between friends and at family gatherings, and continually revisited by contemporary performers.
With a lively selection of iconic songs, Aline DEFORGE and Emmanuel PRESSELIN take you to the Parisian cabarets, guinguettes and dancing halls, and tell the stories of people and social relationships of a bygone era. Both talented singers and storytellers, they bring back to life the figures of Edith Piaf, Charles Trenet, Georges Brassens, Serge Gainsbourg, Yves Montand and others.

Aline DEFORGE and Emmanuel PRESSELIN are both accomplished multi-instrumentalists and singers. They are passionate about keeping the French repertoire alive and well.

They have performed as a duo for over the last ten years, giving concerts in France and abroad, enjoying close interaction with their audiences and providing a joyful and poetic gateway into French culture.

Aline is also a teacher in French as a Second Language. On top of regular language lessons, she runs French song workshops for foreign students.
Each participant receives a handout with song lyrics, additional information and illustrations. You are welcome to sing along and relish the joyful, true and authentic French atmosphere!
